I'm sure you sampled around, but maybe I should have mentioned, their latest album is the first time they've tried lyrics and singing, which I'm hoping they didn't get attached to.
Also, subtract the rock and add 90s hip-hop to your requested mixture, you might get Jazz Spaztics.
I have been reluctant to vote in the polls because then I have to admit to myself that I almost always love the lowest scored / chillest song every time, which is a reminder that I am getting older and death is coming for me..... Please post only ragers soon so that the average score of my most loved songs go up and I don't feel like I'm losing my edge!
It's my dream to have one of those Xcelerator hand dryers in my bathroom at home. Forget that I have a family who may be trying to sleep. Forget that a clean hand towel is faster, more effective, and far more energy efficient. I want my hands to be dried by a screaming robot!
When I saw Miss Grit in here I thought, "Oh, I guess I read this already?" Because who else could have told me about her?
Turns out it was 89.3 The Current's song of the day a few weeks ago. So a bigger hit than you imagined. Maybe.
How did you find out about Denzil in the first place? I have the same sort of thing with Vinnie James, from around the same time even, but even he had a few more releases. This is a really weird, fascinating gap.
Thanks man. Yeah, I’m not even sure I’ve ever watched duets start to finish. It’s just too awkward. But it used to be on cable all the time, so I think I’ve seen it all cumulatively.
I responded a lot to sunking. Just love decent “Indie-jazz-trip-hop-whatchamacallit”, but I don’t have much luck seeking out good tracks in that genre myself.

Will investigate!

I will bring your concerns to the NMFO board!

I would like all of my bathroom functions to be performed by a screaming robot.

The Current is great. I make no claims as to being obscure. I hope Miss Grit becomes Taylor Swift x BTS x Lil Whomever!
As for Denzil, I think I maybe heard him at a Tower Records listening station? (sigh) Miss those...
OMG Duets! As bad as I expected that movie to be when I watched it a couple of years ago, it was somehow worse.
Nice work on the songs and song choices!

Yeah, it’s a hard genre to “seek out”. I’d also recommend checking out The Cinematic Orchestra, if you haven’t.

Huh. Interesting band. Definitely more on the Whatchamacallit end of things. Thanks!
I wish I was in the room - love the vibe, love the feel and would have loved to see this live.
It was a fun evening, for sure.
Finnegan, you did it again. You showcased three musical artists and I loved them all. That wasn't an option on your poll, tho!
That's great to hear! So far these polls have inspired, um, minimal engagement. So I'm not taking much from the results one way or the other.
I figure I cannot complain about engagement on my own newsletter if I'm not willing to engage in others. So. Make it so. ENGAGE!
