I imagine Van Morrison and Tom Waits probably have breath that would make a microphone Nick Drake itself.

Doesn't Rod Stewart's breath smell like jizz or something? Or is that just a rumor?

It won't be a rumor once I'm done with him!

"Pink Moon" was my gateway drug to Nick Drake. Yes, I first heard it in the commercial but the tone and feel of it really rang a chord (no pun intended) with me. That led me to search out the rest of his music through YouTube Music and Tidal and I became a huge fan as a result. There's a feel to his music that sometimes I really need to calm myself down or get my head back on straight. It allows me to chill out and regroup. It's a shame that he's gone, but the music that's left behind has more impact on me more often than most of the other music that's out there today.

"Impact" is probably the best word for it. Even the songs that don't do much for me, compositionally, elicit a feeling in me that feels utterly distinct from other artists. It's like a spice that's too weird and intense for use in everyday cooking.

Aha, thank you. Gotta say, I don't hate this quite as much as I was hoping to.
