My Spotify's Recent Searches page stopped populating what seems like months ago. But lo and behold, now The Last Dinner Party is my most recently searched. [Even though Grandaddy was obviously searched for afterward (I'm not putting NMFO on random).] Anyway, more evidence of industry meddling!
Also, I've thought about that Audio Spackle with your father a bunch over the years, wishing I'd been forward looking enough to save it. Which I guess is just forward looking in order to be backward looking.
Yeah, the network just deleted all the files from their server to make room, I guess. Which is fine, but you think the guy would've asked "Hey, do you want these files before I delete them?" Ah well. Thanks for being in it for the long haul!
Hey! You turned me on to S.G. Goodman with that rec a while back and I caught her at Lincoln Hall in Chicago with my wife last week - holy moly what a performance. And totally agree the Waymore Blues cover was a highlight. The casually badass way they ripped through that song was jaw dropping. Here's hoping she releases a live record with that band at some point. I heard from another person in the crowd that this touring band beat the pants off her previous one.
Not quite a favourite song from her childhood, but I found out only a couple of years ago that my now 83-year-old mother saw Elvis freakin’ Presley at Toronto’s Maple Leaf Gardens when she was a teen in the ‘50s! She never mentioned it when we were kids, not even when my younger brother went through an Elvis phase when he was nine or 10.
I saw The Last Dinner Party last week - our local radio station had them do a in-studio session to play 3-4 songs. I had my doubts and expected to be underwhelmed - but I came away pleasantly surprised. They will be inescapable in 2024.
YOU got me tuning in to the Darkness guy's YouTube and HE got me to go ape for "My Lady of Mercy" by The Last Dinner Party (I did the classic old-guy move of thinking the song title was the band name and vice versa) and now I like "Sinner" too. Bang up job all around.

We are all but pawns...

Lo Moon is giving me Death Cab vibes.
Yeah, I hear it.

Thanks again for the recommendation!
Yeah, it was a great show. They didn't play my favorite song (Dead Soldiers), but a grand time indeed. I LIVE TO RECOMMEND.

Man, that's bragging rights material.
My 2 cents NO THANKS...I wanna Rock! Next plz 😁
Yeah, some weeks rock harder than others. I really try to stick with what I'm enjoying contemporaneously, so sometimes I'm a big 'ol softie!
I to judge by feel...just depends. Some time Big and all the frills, sometimes soft and light...soulful to...ty. I hope you are well today 🙂✌️

Yeah, I reserve the right to turn on them if they become ubiquitous!
If my dad secretly started a Ninja Turtle blog I'd lose my fucking mind.
I hear he’s super pissed that April isn’t hot in the new movie.

Everything is connected, maaaaaaan!
