I don't know if it is just an Apple Music thing or not, but after listening to that Andra Day song the Pearl Jam sounded like it was recorded from behind a stack of pillows.
Probably depends on whether you're the kind of person who can see yourself listening to Iron & Wine, but Tears That Don't Matter from their new album is making me happy right now. It's got strings, melodramatic tempo changes, and some really nice piano near the end.
Yeah, I'm sure real audio geeks could give me reasons, but it will never make sense to me that there isn't some sort of universal loudness standard. This will be a pillar of my presidential compaign.
Oh, and I'm definitely spending time with the new Iron & Wine. Digging it so far, and I totally understand why he's broadened his sound, but I do miss the hyper intimacy of the first albums.
