Sill's voice is so compelling. I think it is artificially double tracked using a tape machine. The doubling is too precise for her to have sung it that way. I also suspect she played with the fader on her vocal to create those swooping dynamics. It's possible to sing that way but I've never heard anybody achieve that effect before. Really moving. So much technology to create such an organic spell.
I don't think it's automatic, actually. I hear little divergences here and there. Especially in the bridge. But yeah, it's mesmerizing. And I think the lack of vibrato adds to the otherworldly feeling.
